YOUTH NEWS FOR EVERYONE:

Our Jr. High youth had their turn for Conference wide fun at Spirit Quest 2008  at Camp Colby Ranch in Palmdale.  They gathered together with others from all over Southern California for the weekend.  The theme was “Life is a Highway” and they talked about what their journey looks like, where they are going, and who they are meeting along the way.  You should all know how wonderfully several of our own parishioners served our youth at this event.  Nina Dooley ran the craft station all weekend.  Darrell Uran hauled up the stage, helped construct the set, and ran a small group.  Dave Whitehead shared his gift of technical genius as part of the sound/visual team.  Jon Dawes created a remote control car activity for free time, and helped create the worship area.  Karen Whitehead and Pastor Rick helped with camp set-up and registration.  And, Christine Uran did the visuals and decorations for the campground.  Also, our very own Sr. High youth, Mandy St. John, joined us to share one of her gifts, interpreting our scripture into American Sign Language.  It was an amazing weekend for our youth to worship, study, fellowship, and camp!
